Donna Rae Gilpin

IRRIGON — Donna Rae Gilpin died Wednesday, Dec. 11, at her home in Irrigon at the age of 70.

Donna was born in Portland on Jan. 17, 1932, to Melvin and Fern Whallon. She had been a resident of the Irrigon area for the past 22 years, formerly of Portland.

She married Harry Gilpin of Irrigonin 1984.

She was a member of the Greenfield Grange of Boardman and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

She loved classical music.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Susan Summerhaulder.

Donna is survived by her husband, Harry Gilpin of Irrigon; sons, Ben Summerhaulder of Provo, Utah, and Dale Summerhaulder of Portland; daughters, Kathy George of Portland and Cindy Diegel of Vancouver, Wash.; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

A viewing will be held Friday and Saturday, Dec. 13-14, 2002, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Burns Mortuary Chapel in Hermiston. A graveside service will be held Monday, Dec. 6, at Finley's Sunset Hills Memorial Park in Portland at 1 p.m.

Burns Mortuary of Hermiston is in charge of the arrangements.
