Veterans and their families can participate in a free health clinic Thursday, Nov. 10, at the Hermiston VFW Hall.

The clinic will run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the VFW Hall, 25 W. Cherry Ave., and is a partnership between the Veterans Administration and Good Shepherd Medical Center.

“We wanted to honor our veterans, and this is one way Good Shepherd felt they could do that by providing free health screening and resources,” health educator Kathy Thomas said. “We want to thank those family members too because they sacrifice right along with those in service.”

During the clinic, the VA will provide free flu shots for veterans, and both veterans and their families can receive free heart and stroke assessments. Information on resources, including File of Life, exercise and nutritional diet, will be available, and the clinic will also have free blood pressure checks and counseling. Free healthy snacks and beverages will be provided.

For more information, call 541-567-3502.

“We so much appreciate the sacrifice that veterans and their families make to improve the quality of life in our communities, here and abroad,” Thomas said. “We want to give something back to say thank you.”
