People 15 and older are invited to help make a difference with Hermiston Fire and Emergency Services by volunteering with the Hermiston Fire Corps.

An informational meeting is scheduled at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Hermiston Fire Station, 320 S. First St.

The Fire Corps offers citizens an opportunity to give back to their community by providing non-emergency assistance, including helping with fundraisers, maintaining vehicles, promoting safety education and providing office help.

Contact Stella Hickey, program coordinator, at 561-8554 or tella_trouble@yahoo.com for more information.
