Lois Caroline Eckley

July 22, 1915-May 13, 2001

HERMISTON — Lois Caroline Eckley died Sunday, May 13, at her home in Hermiston. She was 85.

Mrs. Eckley was born in La Veta, Colo., on July 22, 1915, to Thomas and Callie Martin. She married Chester Clay Eckley on Oct. 18, 1935, in Rulison, Colo. Mrs. Eckley had lived in the Hermiston area since 1957.

Mrs. Eckley was a member of the Hermiston Seventh-day Adventist Church. She enjoyed cooking for her family and friends who loved to gather at her home.

Mrs. Eckley is survived by a son and his wife, Conrad and Trina of Hermiston; daughters and their husbands, Rosalind and Norman Edwards of Santa Barbara, Calif., Darlene and Duane Bullock of Spangle, Wash., and Carolyn and Travis Bullock of Kennewick, Wash.; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; a sister, Gladys Morgan of Hermiston; and many nieces and nephews.

Lois was preceded in death by her husband, Chester; her parents; five brothers and one sister.

Funeral services were held Monday, May 21, at the Hermiston Seventh-day Adventist Church. Burial followed in the Hermiston Cemetery.

Memorial contributions in Mrs. Eckley’s name may be given to Adventist Frontier Missions, P.O. Box 346, Berrien Springs, MI, 49103-0346. Burns Mortuary of Hermiston was charge of the arrangements.
