PENDLETON — The mother of the woman charged with killing her husband in April 2001 took the stand Monday during the murder trial in a Umatilla County Court.

The jury heard testimony Monday from Faye Davis, the mother of Kathleen Ruth Blankenship, who is on trial in the shooting death of her husband, Walter Blankenship, in their home around on April 6, 2001.

Davis lived in a fifth-wheel trailer within a few yards of the home of the Blankenships on Cooney Lane when the shooting took place.

Davis painted a picture of a loving relationship between herself and her daughter.
