HERMISTON — A group of Daisy Girl Scouts demonstrated the spirit of giving by helping out those in need during the holiday season.

Six members of the Mid Columbia Girl Scout Daisy Troop 455 drew 12 names from the Wal-Mart Distribution Center Toys for Tots Giving Tree Wednesday, putting into action their motto, "To help people at all times."

"We want to help the children that don't have any toys," said LaNessa Bautista, 5, a member of the Daisy troop.

Her mother, April Bautista, co-leader of the group with Susan Bennett, said that they have money in their account — donated from businesses and churches — that the children will use to buy the gifts.
