In a tradition that goes back more than 100 years, the Coos County Historical Society will gather for its annual meeting at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 14, at the Coquille Plankhouse. The event is free and open to society members and the public. Light refreshments will be served. Society officers will discuss the year's highlights and progress of the new Coos History & Maritime Museum. Don Ivy will speak about the Coquille culture of plank houses. The society will honor Dennis and Janet Beetham for their contributions and Eric Kohler and Pat Cross for their volunteerism, contributing to the preservation of local history.

The Plankhouse is located off Cape Arago Highway at the Kilkitch Community on Miluk Drive. For more information, call the Society at 541-756-6320.
