HERMISTON — Ready, set, action. More movie options are in the makings for Hermiston.

Bruce Humphrey, owner of the Hermiston Cinemas, has submitted a site plan to the City of Hermiston for a new eight-screen movie theatre by Destiny Theatres.

Plans include stadium seating, cup-holder armrests, Dolby digital sound and larger screens. During the next 10 days, Humphrey said, he will be working out financing, "finalizing" contractors, and applying for permits.

The project will require city approvals for the site plan and a "minor partition," Humphrey said. Hermiston Planning Commission will review the final partition plat at the regular meeting Wednesday at 7 p.m. Humphrey says he encourages the public to attend. The site plan is subject to review by the city's planning department and is in a 14-day written comment period.
