Ken Bevan

HERMISTON — Ken Bevan died Tuesday, April 10, at the Good Shepherd Medical Center in Hermiston at the age of 51.

Ken was born in Nampa, Idaho, on Dec. 13, 1949, to Jimmie and Roberta Scott Bevan. He was a long-time resident of Echo. He moved to the Hermiston area in 1961 at the age of 12. He graduated from Hermiston High School in 1968, and then attended Blue Mountain Community College for two years where he enjoyed playing baseball.

He married his wife, Brenda Cobb, on Oct. 20, 1973, in Hermiston. He was employed by the Hermiston Irrigation District where he worked alongside his father. After working for 20 years, Ken went to work for Jones Scott in 1994 before becoming ill in 1995.

Ken was a past member of the Columbia Grange No. 867 and the Stanfield Moose Lodge. He enjoyed coaching baseball along with hunting and fishing with his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Roberta Rae Bevan, in 1987.

Ken is survived by his wife, Brenda of Echo; father, Jimmie K. Bevan of Stanfield; sons, Jim Bevan and Curtis Bevan, both of Echo; daughter, Crystal Bevan of Hermiston; two sisters, Trina Eckley of Hermiston and Vickie Sampson of Hereford, Ariz.; and two grandchildren, Kenneth Michael and Kayla Marie.

A funeral service was held Friday, April 13, at the Burns Mortuary Chapel in Hermiston. Burial followed in the Echo Cemetery.

Burns Mortuary of Hermiston was in charge of the arrangements.
