The doors at the Hermiston Conference Center will open at 5 p.m. Friday for a special cause — raising money to help a local family’s fight against cancer.

“Denene’s Dream” will bring a spaghetti feed, silent auction and live entertainment to the space to benefit Denene Davis and her family.

“Denene worked here at Les Schwab for a long time,” event organizer Lori Horn said. “She has been my friend for many years and she’s been a part of the Echo community for a long time. She has cancer, and it’s getting to the point that the medical expenses are getting so high that they really need some help, and that’s what we’re trying to do with this.”

The event will begin with a cocktail hour from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m., followed by dinner from 6  to 7:30 p.m. The silent auction ends and live entertainment begins at 8 p.m.

“We’re doing a lot of raffle items, as well as the silent auction items, so there will be a lot of raffle tickets available for people when they come in the doors,” Horn said. “We just really appreciate all the help from the community. They’ve been very generous.”

Tickets are $20 per person — or $75 for a family of four or more — and can be purchased at the Hermiston Chamber of Commerce, Les Schwab and Columbia State Bank.
