HERMISTON — Arnold (Jerry) Bell, age 85, a longtime resident of Hermiston, died at his home in Hermiston on Monday, Jan. 22.

Jerry was born in West Bend, Iowa on July 11, 1921 and attended high school in Fort Dodge, Iowa. He was hurt in a plane crash while serving in the Army Air Force.

He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans and the Hermiston Elks Lodge #1845; He retired from the Umatilla Army Depot after many years of service.

Mr. Bell is survived by his wife, Flora, of Hermiston; and a son, Ronald, of Idaho; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother; and sister, Belva.

Disposition was by private cremation.

Memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Meadow Wood Speech Camp.

Burns Mortuary of Hermiston is in charge of the arrangements.
