Umatilla County’s rate of COVID-19 infections has slowed since January.

According to Umatilla County Public Health’s dashboard of cases, the county reported 193 new infections in the seven days between Feb. 3-9.

The new numbers bring the county up to 7,384 known cases.

The county reported two new deaths. Its 75th death with COVID-19 was a 65-year-old male who tested positive on Jan. 11 and died on Jan. 26 while incarcerated. The 76th death with COVID-19 was a 72-year-old male who tested positive on Jan. 16 and died on Jan. 29 while incarcerated.

Morrow County Public health added 11 new COVID-19 cases between Feb. 3-9, putting the county at 1,000 known cases since the pandemic began. The county has had 13 total reported deaths of residents with COVID-19.
