Numbers, numbers and more numbers occupied the Hermiston School Board of Education for more than an hour Monday night as the board members began planning for the 2011-13 biennium budget.

The first task board members faced was estimating the Average Daily Membership (weighted), or ADMw, for the 2011-12 school year. ADMw calculates the average number of students in the district, as well as extra funding received for certain types of students, such as special needs or English-language learners, and the weighted number dictates how much state funding a district will receive.
