Beth L. Picard of Umatilla was born on March 31, 1934, in Shenandoah, Iowa, the daughter of Roland “Tex” and Helen (Erickson) Wilson. She passed away in Hermiston on Tuesday, August 28, 2018, at the age of 84.
Beth moved to Echo, Oregon, with her family in the early 1940s where she grew up and attended her schooling. She married Marvin L. Picard in Pendleton, Oregon, on May 1, 1952. The couple lived in the communities of Kennewick and Richland before moving to San Jose, Calif., in the late 1950s. They returned to Oregon in the early 1960s and have resided in the Umatilla area since that time.
Beth was a loving mother and grandmother. An avid reader, she read every Danielle Steele and James Patterson novel that was written. She also enjoyed doing cross stitch and having family get-togethers.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Marvin; four sons, Kris (Kathy) Picard, Robin Picard, Larry (Diana) Picard and Kevin (Bonnie) Picard; sister Marilyn Pratt; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Vanyla Stephens; and a brother, Dale Wilson.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 8, 2018, at Burns Mortuary chapel, 685 W. Hermiston Ave., Hermiston, Ore.
