It is with great sadness that the family of Donna Joann York-Norman announces her sudden passing, on January 15, 2018, at the age of 75.
Donna was born on March 14, 1942, in Klamath Falls, Ore., to Donavon and Lorraine Hall. They moved to Vale, Ore., at an early age, but she was afforded the opportunity to travel throughout her youth, which drove her desire to continually be on the move enjoying new adventures. She loved taking road trips, preparing homemade travel snacks and simply singing along to the radio. Her passion was spending time with family and friends, reading, playing card games, sharing stories and relaxing.
Her life journey brought her to Hermiston, Ore., in the early ’90s, where she and her husband opened Rogers Appliance and were proud business owners for over 20 years. She retired in 2014 and enjoyed spending her winters in Yuma, Ariz., as a fun-loving “snowbirder.”
Donna was a beloved daughter, sister, mother and wife, touching numerous others with her kindness and ability to see the good in all people. Her positive outlook on life was an inspiration to everyone she knew and called friend.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Donavon Hall and Lorraine Palmer, and her big brother Perry Dwayne Galloway.
Donna is lovingly remembered by her husband and best friend of 28 years, Roger Norman; sisters Janice Hamner and Linda Glen; brothers Bob Hall and Edward Palmer; four children, Robert (Bob) Rumsey from her first marriage to Ron Woodie, Candace (Candy) Woodruff and Nick Rumsey from her second marriage to Bob Rumsey, and William (Don) York from her third marriage to John York; three stepchildren; six grandchildren, Amber Rumsey, Megan Rumsey, Charles Brazeau, Courtney Rumsey, Elizabeth York and Carleen Breece; 13 stepgrandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; longtime friends Annette, Jeff and Elisha Adkins; and countless others that she touched along the way.
A Celebration of Donna’s life will be held in Seaside, Oregon, on Saturday, March 17, 2018, at the Best Western Inn, 414 N. Prom, Seaside, OR 97138 at 11:30 a.m. Oceanside services will follow.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in memory of Donna may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
