Dolores Jeanette Swagger (Pummel), formerly of Adams, Milton-Freewater, Hermiston and Irrigon, Ore., passed away on January 8, 2018, in Walla Walla, Wash.
Dolores was born on December 7, 1930, to the late Jack and Nell Browning, just prior to their move to Irrigon, where Dolores was raised. She graduated from Irrigon High School in 1949 and married Perry Pummel in 1950. She became a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in 1975, attending in Irrigon, Hermiston and then Umapine. Dolores retired as a cook in 1992 from Morrow County School District in Irrigon.
Dolores was preceded in death by her brother Robert Waters, her father Jack Browning, her mother Nell Browning, her husband of 50 years, Perry Pummel, and her second husband of seven years, Howard Swagger.
She is survived by two sons and two daughters: Darrel Pummel of Oregon City, Ore.,Rick Pummel of Walla Walla, Wash., Donna Anderson of Hermiston, Ore., and Anita Baisley of Forks, Wash. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at the Irrigon Seventh-day Adventist Church, 205 Tumbleweed Blvd., Irrigon, Ore., at 4 p.m. on Saturday, January 20, 2018. Flowers may be sent to Rick Pummel, 821 E. Chestnut St., Walla Walla, WA 99362.
