Robert Roland Broun was born to James Broun and Joyce Eldridge in Bremerton, Washington. He is survived by his husband, Daryl Tran, mother Joyce Broun, nephew Jimmy Broun, and cousins Jim and Phil Hummell.
After college, he moved to Fajardo, Puerto Rico, to live with his dad for five years and worked on drones. Then he was hired by Aramco and worked as a technician for several years. Robert got to travel to Saudi Arabia and Kuwait. Finally, he landed a job with GTE as a project manager. Robert and his team of engineers were in charge of setting up communication satellites in other countries. This job provided Robert the opportunity to work and live in Burkino Faso, West Africa, and Egypt.
Robert retired from GTE and moved to the Bay Area. He lived in San Francisco, Berkeley and Tiburon. In 2006 Robert met Daryl and they have been inseparable ever since. They moved to Novato in 2009. On July 13, 2013, Robert married the love of his life, Daryl. They were fortunate to have traveled to Italy, China, Puerto Vallarta, and Spain. Robert and Daryl celebrated their 10-year anniversary in Spain. They had the time of their lives.
Robert was a social and friendly person who was loved by all those whom he came in contact with. He will be missed dearly by his family and friends. Robert’s spirit will live in all of us.
