Los Potrillos de Nayarit, a Norteño (Spanish country) band, will take the stage as part of Morrow County’s Music in the Parks.

Based in Hermiston, the band features four members, who play accordion, bass, 12-string guitar and drums. The group plays ballads, true legends and stories from the past — offering beats that range from semi-slow rhythms to cumbias, which are faster-paced.

The free event is Monday, July 9 at 7 p.m. at Boardman Marina Park. Pack a picnic or bring some cash, as the Boardman Little League will offer concessions.

People are encouraged to bring a blanket or lawn chair and stake out a spot along the Columbia River to enjoy the concert. In case of inclement weather, the performance will be held at the SAGE Center.

The free concert series alternates each Monday through Aug. 13 between Boardman and Irrigon marina parks. For more information, contact Jackie McCauley at utility.clerk@cityofboardman.com or 541-720-1289.
